1 very rare Meiji 6 model (1873) chokunin level Imperial Diplomatic sword. This rare sword would make an important addition to any collection.
Please take a look at the eBay auction result for a 3-5-3 (a lower ranked sword that this one) Japanese Diplomatic sword–item number 361305018538. Enter the item number into any eBay search box.
This sword has the kiri (paulownia imperialis tree) emblem with a 5-7-5 bud pattern. This bud pattern shows that this sword was carried by chokunin officials. This is the higher rank–chokunin officials were appointed by the Emperor himself. The lower sonin officials held lower Emperor-approved positions. The kiri are located on the pommel, the guard, and on the blade.
This sword has a fine, woven wire grip. The handle is gold-gilted. The nickel-plated blade has a filegreed pattern. The saya is perfect black-lacquered wood with gold-plated fittings.

1 rare antique 1800’s A.D. Japanese Samurai katana sword. This sword has World War 2 Army fittings as well as Samurai fittings.
This sword is the same length as an Army Officer’s katana, but the blade and fittings are all half the normal size. The fuchi and saya/scabbard are martial/military. The tsuba, menuki, kashira, and blade are Samurai.
One set of menuki are Samurai family mon. The other menuki set are 3-5-3 Japanese royal kiri/paulonia flower. The unsigned blade measures 24 1/2″ (62.2 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. There is a Japanese surrender/capture tag attached to the saya.

1 antique Japanese Samurai tanto sword available. This tanto sword was carried by true Samurai–this sword would make an important addition to any collection.
The tang/nakago on this tanto has a rare folded-over signature. It’s a folded-over inlay–which is a much more difficult signature inlay. Very hard to find.
The blade measures 7 3/16″ (18.3 cm) from blade tip to the habaki. At first glance this would appear to be a ken sword–however, it isn’t. It has a very thin mune/unsharpened spine. Very unusual, and at the very least a difficult to find tanto shape. This sword has a fine wood saya.
This tanto has a Silver foil habaki.

1 vintage World War II Army Air Corps survival kit folding knife available. This vintage ‘Giant Jackknife’, as it is also called, was made by Colonial. This knife would make a nice addition to any collection.
This knife measures 6″ when closed. The knife blade itself measures 4 11/16″. The knife blade is stamped ‘COLONIAL PROV. R.I.’. The knife blade locks open with a linerlock. The saw blade measures 5″.
These knives were used to escape from downed aircraft. The knife blade was to be plunged through the fuselage. Then the saw blade was used to cut a hole in the fuselage to escape through.

1 very rare Japanese Meiji period through World War 2 Army Officer’s Court-style Dress Sword. This is the type 19 Army dress sword–this design was authorized in 1886 A.D., and continued to be made until 1938. This hard-to-find Japanese WW2 Army Court-style dress sword would make an important addition to any collection
The type 19 sword has a dragonfly on each side of the pommel. The guard has the sun rays design with the “V” shaped ends. This sword measures 27 3/8″ overall when outside of its saya/scabbard.
This is a rare and difficult to find Japanese sword.

1 antique World War II Japanese samurai army officer’s late War shin-gunto sword available. A sword in this condition would make an important addition to any collection.
The tang is signed and dated. This sword is signed ‘Toshimitsu‘.
This sword has 2 rare stamps on one side of the nakago. It was stamped with a lighter strike, then stamped again so that the stamp was complete. According to Fuller & Gregory’s reference book Military Swords of Japan, 1868-1945, page 82, this stamp is the Chimata stamp. The description of this stamp in Fuller & Gregory is as follows: “Chimata stamp, significance unknown. Very rare, but can be confused with [a more common stamp]. Once found in conjunction with a ‘Seki’ stmap. It appears to date from the later part of the Second World War.”
All military fittings are of good quality. The blade measures 26 1/8″ from blade tip to notch in the blade spine (as measured properly with the tape pulled tight between the blade tip and the top of the habaki). The hamon is polished on. The reverse side of the nakago has the date this sword was made. That side also has a miniature Seki arsenal stamp.

1 exceedingly rare WW2 Japanese Army Officer Presentation Sword. This rare sword would make an important addition to any collection.
This is a rare World War 2 Presentation Sword. The front side of the nakago/tang is just filled with kanji. This side of the tang is written (and translated) as follows:
1st line: Great Japan Firemen’s Association from Saga, Shibu branch
2nd line: Requested by Fire Department Chief Mr. Nagauchi Kiyokazu
3rd line: (Showa 10th year, 2nd month) February 1935
The tang is signed on the reverse side with the swordsmith’s name ‘Hizen (no) Kuni Kinoshita Yoshitada‘. Yoshitada was awarded 1st Seat at the 1941 Sword Exhibition. Yoshitada is featured on page 201 of Slough’s book.
All military fittings are of premium quality. Note the fine gold-gilt sarute (tassel loop). This sword also has a higher quality pierced tsuba. All fittings have matching assembly numbers.
The kashira has a Silver family mon. This mon was used by the Sakai Samurai clan. Mori Motonari (1497-1571) chose the water plantain as a mon because of a victory in a battle. Reaching a riverbank and seing a dragon-fly (known as the insect of victory) alighting on a plantain, he mused on the meaning of this sign then rallied his men on to victory.
The blade measures 26 3/4″ (67.9 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.
This sword is papered.

1 antique Japanese Samurai tanto sword available. This tanto is unusual in that its mounts disguise the sword as a flute. This tanto was made by one of the Naminochira/Satsuma smiths from the late 1400’s A.D. to the late 1500’s A.D. This fine Japanese tanto sword would make an important addition to any collection.
This tanto is signed on the nakago with the smith’s name, Yasusada. The blade measures 9 1/2″ (24.1 cm) from blade tip to the bottom of the notch in the habaki. When in its flute mounts, this tanto measures 19 1/2″ (49.5 cm) overall.
The blade bears horimono on both sides–one side has clouds, the other–a dragon chasing the ball. The habaki has a thick gold gilt.
The bamboo mounts that disguise this tanto as a flute even have the ends hollowed out for several inches to complete the ruse.

1 antique World War II Japanese samurai army officer’s gendaito sword available. This WW2 Officer’s katana was made by Emura. Swords by Emura are highly sought-after by collectors. This sword would make an important addition to any collection.
The tang is signed ‘Emura saku’.
This sword was struck by a G.I.’s bullet. The original tsuka/handle was heavily damaged by the bullet strike so the handle was recently replaced with a different original WW2 sword handle. The damage to the nakago is shown in one of the photographs above, as well as in one of the photographs at the bottom of this listing. The original tsuka will be sent with this sword to be kept with the sword (tape is holding the same/rayskin to the bullet-damaged tsuka–using glue would make the tsuka suitable for display).
All military fittings are of excellent quality. The blade measures 25 13/16″ (65.6 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. This fine sword has a straight hamon/temper line.
The tsuba and each seppa, etc. all have the matching assembly number ‘8’.
The saya/scabbard has the higher quality spatter-lacquer finish.

This side also reads “I SHALL RETURN”. The other side of the blade is etched with the different battles of the Philippines during World War 2.
This fine Wilkinson F/S commando knife measures 12 1/8″ overall. This commemorative stiletto comes in its original felt-lined presentation box. This knife comes with its original Certificate of Authenticity, as well as with a photo of General MacArthur’s return to the Philippines.

1 difficult-to-find, new in the box vintage Valade-engraved Al Mar Fang I fighting/boot knife available. This classic Al Mar boot knife would make an important, and rare addition to any collection.
This is a desirable gold chop Al Mar.
This Al Mar knife measures 6 3/4″ overall. The blade itself measures 3 9/16″. The front tang is stamped with the Al Mar logo, and reads ‘AL MAR’. The reverse tang is stamped ‘SEKI-JAPAN’. The handle scales are brown/black micarta. The guard, pins and lanyard hole are brass. The reverse side of the black leather sheath is stamped with the Al Mar chop and ‘5001’.
The guard and handle pins were engraved by Bob Valade. The front guard bears the ‘Valade‘ engraved mark. The reverse guard is engraved ‘10-7-82‘.

1 antique World War II Japanese samurai Naval officer’s sword available. The blade in this sword is an old family blade from around the mid/late 1500’s A.D. This sword would make an important addition to any collection.
This sword is not signed. The nakago looks to have been shortened during ancient times so the signature was likely cut off. There are two holes in the tang–each is hand-cut.
All Naval fittings are of exceptional quality. Note how much gold gilt is present on all fittings. There is a fine Naval clasped hands sarute/tassel loop. There are no menuki on the tsuka–a common variation.
There is also a fine Silver Samuri family mon. This mon is of the Chinese bellflower. This mon represents the following Samurai clans: Ota Dokan 1432-1486 A.D., Kakegawa in Suruga, Fukazawa, Matsudaira, Oshima in Suruga, Kuwayama, Takiwaki, Sakurai in Kazusa, Toyama, and the Tsuneoka.
Silver Samurai family mon are seen most often on Army swords. Family mon are not common on Naval swords.
The blade measures 26 7/8″ (68.3 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. This fine sword has a straight hamon/temper line. The saya is the higher-class sharkskin.
This sword has its very fine, original silk Officer’s tassel.
