Description
1 vintage Australian-made U.S. World War 2 V-44 fighting/survival knife. This ID’d WW2 fighting knife has the maker mark stamped on the blade. This knife would make an important addition to any collection.
This knife measures 14 1/4″ overall. The blade itself measures 9 1/2″. The blade is engraved with the soldier’s name ‘BUCK’. The soldier also engraved the guard with his initials ‘CRB’. The blade is also stamped ‘[MARSDEN] MACHINE [TOOL] BRISBANE‘.
The scabbard is really great. It is stencilled with the Commonwealth broad arrow. It is also marked ‘M.E. 1945 AF-‘. There is lots of other information stencilled on the scabbard–not all can be read, but could be identified by someone who has another example, or by someone who collects Aussie fighting knives.
CONDITION:
This Australian World War 2 fighting knife is in excellent condition. The blade has three nicks, and the blade saw some sharpening during the War. The handle is excellent, and the guard is perfectly tight. The scabbard is in perfect condition.
