The handsome saya exhibits high craftsmanship. Note the horizontal and vertical ribs lacquer in a deep black. Ocean waves kurikata.
FUCHI/KASHIRA
Ocean wave patterns in solid Silver.
TSUBA
Soft metal in ocean waves. Sukashi open work with Omodaka (water plaintain) kamon. Gold and Silver foil seppa sit next to the tsuba.
The blade measures 15 7/8″ (40.3 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.
This sword is mumei–what a great sword to Shinsa! A fine blade.
CONDITION:
This old antique Japanese sword is in full polish. Just one almost unmentionable minor ware near the mune. The hamon and boshi are perfect.
