The front tang is etched 'THE F-S FIGHTING KNIFE'.  The reverse tang is stamped 'WILKINSON SWORD  LONDON'.  There are no markings on the guard.

The blade is etched 'CAPT. G.M. LENTZ'.  George Lentz later became a Colonel.  Colonel Lentz's serial # was 0293255 T43 44.  His original dog tag is attached to the sheath.

The veteran served in the 50th Field Artillery Battalion, 5th Infantry Division (Red Diamond) from 1944-1945.

This World War II 2nd pattern Wilkinson Sword F/S fighting knife is in exceptional condition.  The blade was never sharpened, and has its original factory edges.  The pommel nut has not been messed with.  The sheath is in excellent condition.
