1 so very rare World War II 2nd pattern Wilkinson Sword Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife available. This knife is etched in large initials to the owner. The reverse has the rare long 'BY APPOINTMENT WILKINSON SWORD LONDON' etch. This fighting knife would make a rare addition to any World War II, or world militaria collection.
There are no markings on the guard. And there are no markings on the sheath.
This knife measures 11 13/16" overall. The blade measures 6 3/4".
This knife is in exceptional condition! The blade has its original factory finish and blade edges. Each edge saw just a couple of passes over the sharpening steel--it is very clear, that this was on just one occasion. The pommel nut has not been messed with. The elastic keeper strap on the sheath is gone (as is almost always the case with 80 year old elastic).
If you collect rare Fairbairn-Sykes knives, this knife is among the most rare.
