1 vintage World War II 2nd pattern Wilkinson Sword Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife available. F/S commando knives like these were carried by U.S. G.I.'s and paratroopers, and by British Commandos in Europe during World War II. Some U.S. combat troops staging in England would purchase these knives to carry in addition to, or as replacement for their M3 trench knife. This fighting knife would make a fine addition to any World War II, or world militaria collection.
This knife measures 11 3/45" overall. The blade itself measures 6 3/4". The front tang is etched 'THE F-S FIGHTING KNIFE'. The reverse tang is stamped 'WILKINSON SWORD LONDON'. There are no markings on the guard. The scabbard has no markings.
This World War II 2nd pattern Wilkinson Sword F/S fighting knife is in exceptional condition! There are no blade nicks. The blade has its original finish, and original factory edges. The pommel nut has not been messed with, and has its original factory grip marks from when the pommel nut was put on the knife. The elastic keeper strap is gone on the sheath (as is almost always the case with these knives).
This listing represents the opportunity to add a very fine Wilkinson Sword 2nd Pattern F/S fighting knife to your collection.
