1 premium mounts antique 1500's A.D. Japanese wakizashi available. This sword would make an important addition to any collection.
This is an interesting sword. The blade has horimono carving--one side has grooves, and the other side has bonji.
A partial signature is on the bottom of the nakago. The fuchi/kashira and menuki are made of handsome shakudo. The fuchi/kashira are a fine dragons motif. The menuki are tigers.
The blade measures 19 1/4" (49 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. This sword has a healthy hamon, and absolutely no flaws. This blade should be papered.
The saya itself is a work of art. There are 11 different Samurai family mon in the lacquer.
The blade is in original Japanese polish. There are no nicks in the cutting edge. No expensive polish is needed on this sword since it is generally in such a nice state of polish. The mounts are in nearly perfect condition.
