1 Buck Custom ‘Four Generations of Knifemakers’ Commemorative model 903 Bowie available.  This fine Custom Buck knife would make an important addition to any collection. 

This fine Buck Custom knife has the images of the four generations of Buck family members that made knives.  These images are etched in 24kt gold.  The blade is engraved with serial number: ‘358/1500’. 

The blade itself measures 10 3/16″.  This knife measures 15 1/4″ overall.  This Buck knife comes in a velvet-lined wood display box. 

1 set of 3 new vintage Western Bowie knives available.  This rare Western Bowie knife set would make an important addition to any collection.

This rare set has three hard-to-find mirror-polished Western Bowie knives.  The medium W47 Bowie knife measures 11 11/16″ overall.  The small W45 Bowie measures 9 3/16″.  And the miniature W43 Bowie measures just 6 5/16″ overall. 

1 original box rare ‘Puma Commemorative’ model knife.  This desirable Puma Commemorative folding hunter would make a rare addition to any collection.

This knife is number 1083 in this limited series.  The blade is etched in 24kt gold with this number, and the paperwork has the same serial number as well.  This knife commemorates the founding of Puma-Werk in Solingen, Germany in 1769 A.D. 

This knife measures 8 3/4″ when opened, and 5″ in the closed position.  The blade itself measures 3 3/4″.  The handle is sambar stag.  The blade spine and backspring are intricately checkered.

The lid on the wood presentation/display box has a metal gold foil oak leaf design affixed to it. 

1 new in the box vintage Western W49-CAB Bowie knife available.  This impossible to find large cast brass guard Western Bowie knife would make an important addition to any collection.

This Bowie knife measures 14 5/8″ overall.   The blade itself measures 9 5/16″.   The Western W49 Bowie is difficult to find with this large brass guard. 

This knife was made in the U.S.A. 

1 vintage ca.1979-1980 Al Mar Bulldog II pocket knife available.  This Al Mar Bulldog has the very fine scrimshaw image of a tiger done by scrimshander Charles Hargraves.  This difficult to find knife would make an important addition to any collection.

This desirable early ‘U.S.A.  SEKI-JAPAN’-marked Al Mar knife has white/yellow Westinghouse micarta handles.  This fine Al Mar knife measures 3 9/16″ when closed. The blade itself measures 2 3/8″. The front of the blade is marked with the Al Mar chop, and reads ‘AL MAR’.  The reverse tang is stamped ‘U.S.A.  SEKI-JAPAN’.

1 Smith & Wesson model SW-1232 stag auto knife with box.  This vintage S & W knife was made in the U.S.A.

This knife’s blade measures 1 15/16″.  When closed this knife measures 3 1/16″.

1 vintage 1970’s Eldon G. Peterson custom folding hunter available.  This handsome custom knife would make an important addition to any collection. 

The handle is made of a dark tiger-stripe grain wood.  The handle has a Sterling Silver ram’s head.  The blade measures 4 3/16″.  This knife measures 5 1/4″ when closed.  The leather sheath is a design unique to Eldon.  It, like the knife, is handsome indeed.

1 very rare Wilson custom Mini Buckmaster 184 knife.  There were just 200 of these Mini Buckmasters made by Wilson.  These knives were sold by BUCK in 1987 as an authorized miniature. 

The blade on this Buckmaster miniature measures just 2 15/16″.  These mini Buckmasters were well made-in fact, the spikes and pommel screw off just like in the full-size Buckmaster 184.  This knife was made in the U.S.A.

1 James B. Lile custom Bowie fighting knife.  This is a Russellville, Arkansas, 100-Year Anniversary Knife.  This custom knife would make an incredible addition to any collection.  

The blade measures 7 3/8″.  This knife measures 12″ overall.  The handle is fine stag. 

The front of the blade is engraved ‘RUSSELLVILLE  ARKANSAS   1870-1970  No 37 of 50‘.  The reverse side of the blade has the script engraving ‘Hand Made by James B. Lile‘. 
 

1 Bill Moran custom knife available.  This William Moran knife would make a centerpiece knife in any collection. 

The guard, pommel, and handle crest are made of Sterling Silver.  The pommel is stamped ‘STERLING‘.  The blade measures 9 7/8″.  This knife measures 15″ overall.  

The ricasso is stamped ‘BY W.F. MORAN   LIME KILN MD.’. 

SIGNIFICANCE:

I showed this knife to ABS Master Bladesmith A.J. ‘Barney’ Barnes on 4-13-18.  He let me know that there were probably just around 12 knives or so made by Bill Moran with a Sterling Silver pommel and/or guard.  In fact, Barney let me know that these knives were made in the late ’60s/early ’70s.  Bill had a friend that owned a Silver works–his friend owned Kirk & Son Silver (now Kirk-Stieff).  Bill sourced his Silver from him.  Bill Moran had a small ‘STERLING’ stamp that he had made, and used on these few knives.  

Barney let me know that Bill’s ‘STERLING’ stamp was lost when the Moran shop flooded with at least 4 feet of water during Hurricane Agnes in 1972.  They don’t know if it washed away, or was swept up with all the debris during clean-up after the water receded.  He didn’t have another stamp made, so this knife was made no later than 1972.  

This large Moran Bowie with Sterling Silver pommel and guard is quite rare–he knows the location of only one other Moran knife with Sterling Silver, and it is a much smaller knife.
