WW II Japanese Samurai Army COPPER HANDLE NCO Sword -Antique/Old WW2 Collection

WW II Japanese Samurai Army COPPER HANDLE NCO Sword -Antique/Old WW2 Collection
$0
1 vintage World War II Japanese Copper Handle NCO sword available. This copper handle NCO sword is in exceptional condition. The condition of this sword is among the top 5% condition Japanese copper handle NCO swords to be found. This WW2 Japanese NCO sword would make a fine addition to any collection.
This sword is a more difficult to find variation of the copper handle NCO swords. Jim Dawson, in his book Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945, Cyclopedia Edition, notes that some rare copper handle NCO swords have two sets of serial numbers (photo 6 above). The sword and scabbard serial #’s match. The sword’s serial # is 5737, and the scabbard’s serial # is 5737. Dawson notes for rare variation copper handle NCO swords: “Numbers in parentheses are stamped on the blade forward of the habaki, parallel to the front edge of the habaki.”
The blade measures 26 3/4″ from tip to top of the habaki (habaki edge that touches the blade). Note the arsenal stamps on the fuchi (fitting just below the tsuba/guard).
