Description

A Japanese WWII Formosa dagger available. This fine Colonial dirk has an unusual blade–this blade is shaped in the legendary kogarasu-maru blade type. This exceptional antique Japanese colonial dirk would make an important addition to any collection.

Japan occupied the island of Formasa (Taiwan) during World War 2. The tsuka (handle) mekugi has the Formosa badge.

The blade has an 8 3/4″ (22.2 cm) nagasa. As mentioned, this dirk is rare as it has a very uncommon kogarasu maru blade.

The saya has the premium sharkskin (shagreen) option. This dirk has an acid-etched hamon.

CONDITION:

This Japanese WWII Formosa dagger is in exceptional condition. The tsuka is in perfect condition with all wires in perfect condition. The blade has a few spots of carbon staining. The saya is perfect, and the locking mechanism functions perfectly.
