Description
1 antique Japanese Samurai o-yanone arrow point available. This desirable exceptionally large Japanese rope cutter arrowhead would make a fine addition to any collection.
The ancient 17th-18th century Japanese yajiri/arrowpoint was used by true Samurai. This large arrowpoint has a 5″ nagasa. The point measures 5″ (12.7 cm) by 3 3/4″ wide (9.5 cm). The nakago measures 6 1/8″ (15.6 cm).
A photo is provided illustrating this arrow point’s grand size–the photo shows this yanone next to a normal size Samurai point.
The Japanese gentleman we bought this point from told us that this point wasn’t intended as a rope cutter, but instead to cause major damage to wrists or throats, and blood loss.
CONDITION:
This antique Japanese Samurai yanone is in excellent condition. The point has the expected carbon staining as well as super light surface oxidation. The hamon is hard to see in photos in its present state of polish, but can be seen when examining this point in hand.
