This knife is ID’d on the sheath, and is marked for the Okinawa theater. The soldier marked his knife’s sheath ‘James E. Mason P.O. 3/c Okinawa’.
This Kabar has the thick pommel. The blade on this desirable Kabar measures 7 1/16″. This knife measures 12 1/8″ overall. The knife is marked ‘KA-BAR OLEAN, N.Y.’ on the front tang. The reverse tang is stamped ‘USN’.

The aluminum handle is marked on one side ‘MURPHY COMBAT’. The reverse side is marked ‘U.S.A.’. This knife measures 11 5/8″ overall. The blade measures 6″ from blade tip to the nearest part of the handle. There is no sheath with this knife.
This knife would make a nice upgrade knife for a collector that has a lower condition knife with a Murphy sheath. This knife can replace the lower condition knife, and be paired with the Murphy scabbard.

1 highly collectible Japanese Samurai tanto gendai sword available. This traditional water-tempered tanto sword would make an important addition to any collection.
The blade was made by the 2.8 Million Yen swordsmith Toshihide in 1918. Toshihide used three names: Hideaki, Kaneaki and Toshihide. One side of the nakago is signed Hideaki. The other side of the nakago is full of kanji. This side reads ‘Taisho nana nen nigatsu Masako shyoji’. This translates to ‘February 1918’, and ‘(made for/owned by) Masako’.
The blade measures 8″ (20.3 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. This tanto has the distinct horizontal file line on the mune next to the munemachi–a key kantei point for Toshihide. See photo below.

The blade was made by the 2 Million Yen swordsmith Kanenobu. This sword is desirable. The blade has kanji on both sides–one side refers to the god of archery and war. The other refers to a joining of Shinto and Buddhist theologies.
Literally each side reads as follows:
Kasuga Daimyôjin (春日大明神): The numinous unit of the associated kami and buddhas/bodhisattvas of the Kasuga-Kôfukuji multiplex, Nara.
and
Hachiman Daibosatsu (八幡大菩薩): The god of archery and war incorporating both elements from shintô and Buddhism.
The blade measures 26 3/4″ (67.9 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.
This sword has a complex, wavy hamon.

The blade was made by the 1 Million Yen swordsmith Hidehiro. Hidehiro earned 1st Seat ranking at the 1941 Exhibition.
The Rikugun Jumei Tosho star stamp is stamped above Hidehiro’s signature. Interestingly, there are also two kanji on the mune/spine on the nakago.
The blade measures 25 7/8″ (65.7 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. All fittings have matching assembly numbers–the seppa, tsuba, etc. are stamped ’27’.
This sword has a complex hamon.

The sword and scabbard serial #’s match. The sword’s serial # is 82253, and the scabbard’s serial # is 82253. The blade measures 26 5/16″ from tip to top of the habaki (habaki edge that touches the blade). Note the arsenal stamps on the fuchi (fitting just below the tsuba/guard).

This sword was made by 23rd Generation Kanefusa. Kanefusa made just a few Special Order swords with the kiku-sui crest horimono on the blade. See photo 10 above from the Japanese Sword Index online site. Also, photo 12 above is from Jim Dawson’s book Swords of Imperial Japan 1868-1945–Cyclopedia Edition.
All military fittings are of excellent quality. The blade measures 25 9/16″ (64.9 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. The wood saya has a leather combat cover. This sword has a fine cherry blossom sarute.
This sword has a beautiful temper line.

This knife was carried by a member of Carlson’s Raiders. See page 86 of Mike Silvey’s book Knives of the United States Military — World War II for a photo of the Raider stiletto.
This Marine Raider stiletto measures 12 3/16″ overall. The blade itself measures 7 1/8″. The blade etch is still partially visible on the blade ‘U.S.M.C.‘, and ‘CAMILLUS CUTLERY CAMILLUS N.Y.‘.
The Raider whose knife this was added a cool Turkish knot to the handle–awesome.

These knives were made for the SOE and the OSS. The knife’s master blade measures 3 7/16″. This knife measures 4 7/8″ overall when closed. The second blade on this knife is the tire slasher blade for clandestine work. 150 of these knives were bought as surplus after the War by Latama knives of Italy. Latama used an electric pencil and wrote ‘ITALY’ on the large blade, and ‘LATAMA’ on the small blade.

This knife was made by a legend in knife-making. Frank Richtig had a secret steel tempering process that allowed him to slice through railroad spikes and automobile leaf springs. Frank would demonstrate this at county fairs–after slicing a railroad spike or leaf spring, he would slice through a piece of paper with the same knife. Frank earned himself a spot in a ‘Ripley’s Believe It or Not’ magazine in the 1930’s.
This impressive-sized Richtig cleaver measures 12 1/4″ overall. The cutting edge itself measures 6 1/8″. The aluminum handle is marked with the ‘HAND MADE BY F.J. RICHTIG CLARKSON, NEBR.’ stamp. This cleaver weighs a heavy 1 lb. 5 oz.

This Case V-42 has the long scabbard. The blade on this knife measures 7 7/16″–its full original length.
This knife was used by the First Special Service Force. Frank Trzaska notes in his article “The Case V-42 Stiletto” which appeared in the April 1998 edition of KnifeWorld, that “The U.S. Special Forces (Green Berets) use the V-42 in their Distinctive Insignia, their Unit Crest and in their shoulder patch.” The Case V-42 is a coveted and classic U.S. fighting knife.

This sword is signed ‘Noshu Kanetoshi saku kore’. The signature side of the nakago has a star stamp. The blade measures 24 11/16″ (62.7 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. Interestingly there is an arsenal stamp on the date side of the nakago.
This sword has a super complex temper line/hamon. Not surprising for a star stamp gendai. Kanetoshi was a Rikugen Jumei Tosho smith.
The saya has painted numbers on it in Japanese kanji--not sure, could be a unit number.

This early War variation Kabar has a thin, peened pommel. This variation also has a thick red spacer, and thin black spacer, next to the guard. There are 3 thin black spacers next to the pommel.
This Kabar Mark 2 has an exceptional scabbard with beautiful, theater trench artwork. The soldier’s name ‘FIELD’ appears in the middle of the artwork.
The blade on this desirable Kabar measures 7″. The knife is marked ‘KA-BAR OLEAN, N.Y.’ on the front tang. The reverse tang is stamped ‘U.S.M.C.’.

Antique Russo-Japanese War/D-Guard koshirae for a Japanese kyu-gunto Army katana available. These antique mounts would make an important addition to any collection.
A fine blade was in these mounts–a 17th century katana by Kinmichi. So these koshirae are of high quality.
The blade this koshirae held measured over 28″ (71.1cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. The gold gilt tsuka/handle is perfect. The peg is made of horn. The nickel-plated saya has a leather combat cover. This koshirae has one gold-gilt seppa.
This tsuka is of the more desirable 2 – 2 1/2 hand length type. These mounts would display nicely with a wood tsunagi.
