Description
1 Ottoman Persian shamshir sword available. The blade on this fine antique shamshir is made of wootz, or watered steel. This sword would make an important addition to any collection.
This shamshir measures 35″ overall. At the top finial of the crossguard, the blade measures 15/16″ wide (2.5 cm), and 3/16″ thick (4.75 mm). The handle grip scales are missing. There was no scabbard with this sword when we bought it. An exceptional restoration piece made with the finest wootz steel.
The guard is tight with no movement. The guard is carved and has traces of gold accents. A fine piece.
CONDITION:
The blade and guard on this Ottoman Persian shamshir sword are in exceptional condition. What a sword it will be when restored with a handle.
