1 World War 2 Chindit knuckle knife. Long-range Penetration Groups (Chindits) were tasked with carrying out disruptive raids behind enemy lines during World War 2 in the Burma theater.
The Chindit soldiers were British, Burmese, Gurkhas, West Africans, as well as soldiers from Hong Kong.
This knife measures 10 9/16" overall. The blade measures 6 1/8". This knife has its original sheath. See the photo references from Bill Walters' book included in this listing.
This World War 2 Chindit knuckle knife is in fine condition. There are two hairline cracks in the blade (see photos). Must have been used to pry something in the field? See the included photos--hasn't compromised the look or function of the knife. The original sheath is perfect. The knife handle has some dried grease on it (WD-40 will take it off).
