All military fittings are of the highest quality.  In addition to the Silver fittings, this type of premium Army koshirae has a blue handle wrap.  Also, the saya is the special lightweight aluminum variation.  

The blade measures 25 1/4" (64.1 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.  The blade on this sword has a handsome bohi blade groove.  The hamon is complex.  This sword is signed 'Kaneuji'.  There is a Seki stamp above the signature.  

Another desirable characteristic of this sword is the Silver Samurai family mon over both menuki.  There is also a fine Company Grade (Lieutenant) Officer's tassel on this sword.

There is just one tiny nick in the cutting edge.  There is one small stain on the blade with no pitting.  The blade is perfectly straight.  The tsuka wrap is perfect.  The saya is in excellent condition.
