1 vintage U.S. WWII Herder Commando knife. This desirable U.S. fighting knife would make an important addition to any collection.
The handle is marked on one side ‘HERDER PHILA.‘. The handle is wrapped with brass wire in typical Herder style.
This knife measures 10 5/8″ overall. The blade itself measures 6″.
The World War 2 Herder Commando knife variations usually had blades with multiple shallow fullers. Their handles were wood with twisted brass wire guards. They were a private purchase knife for U.S. troops going off to War.
CONDITION:
This WWII Herder Commando knife is in exceptional condition. The blade is excellent with only the staining expected on carbon steel. The handle is perfect. The scabbard is in excellent condition as well.
