Description
1 Japanese WWII Army Officer’s Sword available. This antique Japanese katana would make an important acquisition for any collection.
The blade is a Samurai blade from the early 1800’s. The WW2 Army Officer sword mounts are in exceptional condition. The unsigned blade has a killer hamon/temper line. This is a beautiful sword. The nakago/tang has 3 holes in it–so was remounted several times.
The blade measures 26 3/16″ (66.5 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. The saya is the early type with a high grade lacquer finish.
This sword has its original surrender tag attached to it. The tag has been translated–the Army Officer who surrendered this sword was ‘Doishi Sousuke’.
CONDITION:
This sword is in exceptional condition. The blade is in original Japanese polish. There are no nicks in the blade.
This fine World War 2 IJA Officer katana, with its cloth surrender tag, would make an important addition to a collection.
