Description
1 US WWII Ruana knife available. A similiar Ruana fighter appears in Bill Walter’s second book on U.S. & Allied Fighting Knives.
This rare U.S. WW2 fighting knife is missing from almost every military knife collection–because they are very difficult to find. This exceedingly rare Ruana fighting knife would make a holy grail addition to any military or Ruana knife collection.
This WW2 Ruana fighter has square cut handle scales–dating this knife to 1938-1943. This knife is also pre-stamp.
The blade on this large WW2 Ruana combat knife measures 5 9/16″ long. This knife measures 10″ overall.
CONDITION:
This antique US WWII Ruana knife is in excellent condition. The blade spine has hammer marks from use in the field. Most Ruanas of this period have a ‘crack’ on the aluminum on the handle spine and belly as this knife does. Every single one of these square-cut WWII Ruana fighting knives that we have purchased have these. Everything on the handle, etc. is perfectly tight. The usual cracks here don’t affect anything.
The leather sheath is in excellent condition. The keeper strap was reinforced on its left side decades ago with a band of leather.
This exceptional WW2 Ruana fighting knife would make a rare and important addition to any collection.
