1 antique Japanese Samurai okozuka (large–knife handle). This is a very rare size for a Japanese kozuka. An okozuka is difficult to find.

This okozuka measures 4 3/16″ (10.6 cm) by 3/4″ (1.9 cm). A regular-sized kozuka measures 3 13/16″ (9.7 cm) by 9/16″ (1.4 cm).

This okozuka has an impressive and very collectible motif. The image is of the severed head of a vanquished Samurai with an arrow through it. A tanto lies next to the head.

CONDITION:

This fine antique Japanese okozuka is in exceptional condition. There is a super fine separation along the opening for the kogatana. The important image side of the okozuka is in perfect condition.
