Description
1 vintage pre-WW2 thru WW2 Japanese Army Officer’s katana sword available. This WW2 Army Officer’s shin-gunto katana would make a fine addition to any collection.
This sword is unsigned. There is no arsenal stamp on this sword. The blade measures 26 1/2″ (67.3 cm) (measured properly from the blade tip to the notch in the blade spine).
This Army katana has a fine wavy hamon/temper line. The old saya/scabbard is wooden with black lacquer. The two sides of the wood saya were taped together by the vet. The two sides just need to be glued.
CONDITION:
The handle wrap on this sword is excellent. The sword fits perfectly in the saya, and has a nice secure fit at the saya throat. This sword has a perfect edge–with no nicks at all. The blade is in exceptional condition. The hamon/temper line displays beautifully. The blade is perfectly straight.
The temper line and boshi are perfectly healthy. This sword is guaranteed against fatal flaws.
