Description

1 fine antique Japanese Samurai tanto sword with attractive fittings. This beautiful sword would make an important addition to any collection.

This mumei sword has a 9 3/4″ (24.7 cm) nagasa/cutting edge. The fuchi/kashira are matching. An exceptional gold-etched habaki w/sukashi heart. The tsuba is made of soft metal.

The hamon is hitatsura (full temper). The boshi has a deep turnback.

CONDITION:

The tanto mounts are in exceptional condition. The saya lacquer is in fair condition. The blade has some minor scattered carbon staining, and one minor ware on one side. The hamon is somewhat obscured by its present polish, but is visible along its entire length. The boshi is complete.
