Description

1 difficult to find antique Edo period Japanese Samurai uchine–or Samurai throwing dart.  I thought it a crossbow bolt, or shudo/oyumi at first.  This rare Samurai uchi-ne would make an important addition to any collection.

This Samurai throwing dart measures 18 3/4″ in length (47.6 cm).  The socket-type head has a nagasa of 3 3/16″ (8.1 cm).  The uchi-ne head is more the size of a yari than an arrowhead.  Note the photo provided that shows this piece lying next to a Samurai arrow.
