U.S. Marine ID’d Vietnam War ca.1967 Gerber Mark II fighting knife

U.S. Marine ID’d Vietnam War ca.1967 Gerber Mark II fighting knife
$0
U.S. Marine ID’d Vietnam War ca.1967 Gerber Mark II fighting knife. This early combat knife would make an important addition to any collection.
This Gerber is serial number ‘004580’. This Mark II serial number dates this knife to 1967. The Marine etched his name on one side of the guard. It looks to read ‘D. Hirte’. The reverse side of the guard is etched ‘USMC 2182919’. This vet’s service record is researchable since his name, branch, and serial # are on his knife.
The sheath has the 2-line Gerber stamp, and the right-hand keeper strap. The sheath houses the Gerber sharpening steel.
