This Mantetsu has the hard to fine premium mounts variation. The habaki is deep red in color and is finely. grooved. The rest of the fittings have the deep red color associated only with this variation of Mantetsu.
The blade measures 26 1/4″ from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. This sword is dated ‘Spring 1943’. The nakago/tang spine has the Japanese kanji for the number 7 stamped on it.

Signed by the smith ‘Amahide Fukuda of Seki — 1941’.
This is a traditionally-made sword—note the complex hada/grain. This sword was made with Tamahagane (Japanese sand steel).
The blade measures 26 13/16″ (68.2cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine. As mentioned, this is a traditional gendai sword–there are no arsenal or Showa stamps on the nakago.

This sword is signed ‘Noshu Seki ju Ichimonji Amahide kitau kore’. This sword also has Amahide’s hot stamp (kokuin).
This is a special sword. Unlike roughly 95% of gendai swords, this sword was made with Tamahagane (traditional Japanese sand steel), and was made in the old ways. Note the beautiful hada (grain).
