Description
1 exceedingly rare Naval Yasukuni Shrine sword available. Among the most rare of Yasukuni Shrine swords is the kai gunto. This sword would make an important addition to any collection.
This Yasukuni Shrine sword was made by Yasushige. Dated ‘an auspicious day in April 1943’. In its original mounts–the koshirae was made for this sword in 1943.
The saya is shagreen/sharkskin. All fittings have the same matching assembly number.
The blade nagasa is 26 3/16″ (66.5 cm).
CONDITION:
This Naval Yasukuni Shrine sword is in exceptional condition. The blade is in original wartime polish. All mounts are nice and tight–no looseness, and the saya snugs up perfectly to the habaki.
