1 antique World War II Japanese samurai army officer's gendaito shin-gunto sword available.  A sword in this very fine condition would make an important addition to any collection.

The tang is signed with the swordsmith's name, 'Nobumitsu'.  This sword is unlike most others--1 in only many thousands of WW2 Japanese swords would be marked on the tang 'Made with Tamahagne Steel'.  Note the incredible hada/grain in the blade created by the use of tamahagane.  When collecting Japanese WW2 swords, the unusual is desirable. 

There are no arsenal stamps on the tang.  All military fittings are of excellent quality.  The blade measures 24 5/8" (62.5 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.  This fine sword is in perfect polish. 

This vintage Japanese WW2 Samurai Army Officer's katana is in exceptional condition.  The blade is in perfect polish.  There is a new ho-wood (Japanese magnolia) liner in the saya to protect the blade from scratches.  The blade is perfectly straight.  The tsuka wrap is in perfect condition.  The saya's lacquer finish is still 99%.  There is one small dent towards the bottom of the saya. 



A rare Tamahagane steel-signed Japanese Army Officer's katana sword in this exceptional condition would make a fine addition to any collection.
