1 early American Naval Dirk available. This antique United States Naval Dirk is from the era of the War of 1812. This rare dagger would make an important addition to any collection.
This historic early American Navy dagger has Silver fittings. The handle looks to be checkered ox bone.
The blade is etched. One side is floral etched - the other with some words. It is hard to make out - but I believe that it says: "If you run foul of me / you run foul of a snag".
This dirk measures 8 11/16 inches overall. The blade itself measures 5". There is no sheath for this knife.
This fine early American Naval dirk is in wonderful condition. Both Silver handle fittings wiggle. The pommel could be peened to tighten up the fittings if needed--though most would say it should be left alone.
This early U.S. War of 1812 era Naval Dagger would make an exceedingly rare addition to any collection.
