1 vintage U.S. World War II Nichols fighting knife with Alfred Cornish sheath. This fine Nichols knife would make an important addition to any U.S. or world militaria collection.
This fine Nichols fighting knife was made for the soldier, 'R.E. KNOX 840...', and is so marked on the guard. The blade is engraved on one side 'B-0525'. The curved pommel is stamped 'NICHOLS' above the inlayed U.S. Buffalo nickel.
This knife has a 7 5/8" blade. This knife measures 13 1/8" overall. The Cornish sheath is stamped 'ALFRED CORNISH OMAHA, NEB.'.
This WW2 Nichols fighting knife is in excellent condition. The blade has signs of sharpening and an occasional tiny area of light pitting, but is outstanding. There is some pitting on one side of the guard. The handle is perfect. The Cornish sheath is missing its keeper strap. There are also scratches in the leather--fortunately though, the original Cornish sheath is still with this knife.
This listing represents the opportunity to purchase a rare WW2 Nichols fighting knife w/Alfred Cornish sheath for your knife or world militaria collection.
