1 serviceman ID'd U.S. World War 2 Case Pig Sticker fighting knife.  This desirable U.S. fighting knife would make an important addition to any collection.

We haven't seen a Case Pig Sticker ID'd like this before--unusual and cool!  The handle is press-marked 'WILLIAM EGBERT  42049487'.  At the top of the sheath is marked 'ALVIN R. SOFIELD'.  Seems like maybe two guys traded knives during the War.  Then the lower part of the sheath is marked 'PVT. WILLIAM EGBERT'.  Here he also marked how many kills he had--he wrote 'JAPS'.  There are 8 dots above for eight kills.

The knife's blade tang is stamped 'CASE'.  This knife measures 10 5/16" overall.  The blade itself measures 6" to the guard.

This knife is in excellent condition.  The blade was kept sharpened during the War.  There is a smaller wood chip on the reverse handle scale.
