1 vintage WW2 Japanese Army Officer's sword made by Tomoyoshi available.  The Tomoyoshi katana has an outstanding fiery hamon/temper line.  A WW II sword like this (with its exceptional temper line) doesn't come along every day.  This premium star stamp Japanese gendai katana would make an important addition to any collection.

This fine sword is signed 'Osaka ju Izumi Tomoyoshi tsukuru kore'.  The reverse side of the nakago is dated.  This fine sword measures 26 5/8" (67.6 cm) (measured properly from the blade tip to the notch in the blade spine).

This traditionally-made gendai katana has an expertly water-tempered wavy, fire-like hamon.  This Japanese WW II Army Officer's katana is in 1944 shin-gunto mounts.

The mounts on this vintage World War II Japanese sword are impressive.  The handle wrap is perfect.  The sword locks in the saya, and the lock release button functions perfectly.  The saya has only a few tiny lacquer chips, their combined surface area amounts to about the size of a shirt button.  There are a couple specks of paint on one side--but the whole condition of this sword is such that it just blends in--the condition is so exceptional.  There are no nicks in the blade edge.  The blade is in nearly perfect polish.  There is no need to spend any money on a polish on this sword--it is already beautiful.  

The temper line and boshi are perfectly healthy.  This sword is guaranteed against fatal flaws.

A WW2 Army Officer's sword with an incredible fiery hamon/temper line--and already in polish--would make a rare and important addition to any collection.
