 U.S. Vietnam War MACV-SOG Ruana fighting knife.  This rare knife would make an important addition to any U.S. or world militaria collection. 

See photo 9 above of page 124 of Mike Silvey's book Knives of the United States Military in Vietnam references Ruana knives being carry knives in Vietnam.

 

This knife is engraved 'SGT. MARSH A. RUMSEY III    5TH SPECIAL FORCES GROUP'.  Sergeant Rumsey was a Green Beret.  The reverse side of the blade is engraved 'PROJECT PINK ROSE   A-323'.  Operation Pink Rose was a defoliation project in Vietnam in 1966 and 1967.  

 

The blade measures 6".  This knife measures 10 1/2" overall.

This knife is in exceptional condition.  

 

 

This rare Ruana MACV SOG Vietnam combat knife deserves a home in a premium collection.
