1 antique World War II Japanese samurai army officer's Muratato shin-gunto sword available.  A sword in this condition would make an important addition to any collection.

The tang is unsigned, with painted assembly numbers on the tang.  This sword is a Murata-to sword.  The slender blade, the blade's curvature, blade length (this sword has the exact length as my last Muratato), and the bohi groove all say 'Muratato'.  Murata Tsuneyoshi developed the "new Japanese-European combined sword system".

All military fittings are of excellent quality.  The seppa, tsuba, etc. all have the matching assembly numbers '55'.  The blade measures 25 11/16" from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.  This fine sword has a metal brown/green-lacquered scabbard.

This vintage Japanese WW2 samurai army officer's katana is in excellent condition.  There is, at most, only an occasional nail-catcher type nick in the blade edge.  There is only a very occasional tiny carbon finish stain on the blade.  The blade is perfectly straight.  The tsuka wrap has shrunk so there is an 1/8" gap near the fuchi.  The saya locking mechanism works perfectly.

This hard-to-find Muratato Japanese samurai sword would make a rare addition to any collection.
