This antique ca.1920's Tomahawk hand axe is ingenious in that the hunting knife is stored in the hatchet's handle. In addition, this hatchet knife combo comes with its original leather sheath. There are two Tomahawk accessories that would be pretty much impossible to find still: an original Tomahawk brand book of matches, and a working Tomahawk brand compass!
The knife tang is stamped 'TOMAHAWK CLINTON, MASS.'. The knife has a 4 3/16" blade. The knife measures 7 13/16" overall. The knife pommel has the inlayed image of a Native American chief. The knife is released from the hatchet handle by pressing on a spring in the pommel. The hatchet measures 11 1/2" overall. The original owner's name is written on the sheath and on the matches.
This antique ca.1920's Tomahawk knife/hatchet combo is in rare condition. The knife blade is in excellent condition. There is a small scratch in the cracked ice handle. One of the hatchet handles has a chipped corner. The hatchet head is in exceptional condition. The sheath is in beautiful condition with a working snap. The matchbook is in excellent condition. The compass is in perfect condition, and it works!
