1 extremely rare second model (1890) Japanese World War 2 Naval Admiral's dress sword.  This sword would make an incredibly rare addition to any collection.

Note--some of the photos show the sword without the knot attached--the collector I bought this sword from had separated
the knot from the sword.  I didn't realize this was this sword's knot until I consulted my reference books--after having already begun photographing.

This sword has a 5-7-5 kiri emblem on the backstrap, and on all three gold-gilt saya fittings.  The saya is perfect polished sharkskin over wood with gold-plated fittings.  This sword has a nickel-plated blade.

Note the original wire knot attached to this sword.  This knot is a premium addition to this rare sword offering.

Photos are provided above, and at the bottom of this listing from various reference sources unquestionably confirming this sword as a flag rank/Admiral's sword.  Photos are provided of pages 262-264 of Jim Dawson's book Swords of Imperial Japan  1868-1945  Cyclopedia Edition.  Also provided are photos from pages 58 & 59 of Fuller & Gregory's book Military Swords of Japan  1868-1945.  Lastly, a few screenshots are provided from the website http://ohmura-study.net/774.html, of Japanese Admiral Togo's Naval saber.

This incredibly rare Japanese WW2 Naval Admiral's Dress Sword is in very rare conditionThis sword is nothing short of mint--with only signs of honest, very light carry.  One can see some brass on the guard where the gold gilt rubbed off from being worn.  There is a very occasional subtle micro-scratch from wear on the edges of the knuckle bow.

The sharkskin saya is perfect.  All sword and saya fittings are perfect

The nickel-plating on the blade is 99.99%--only one spot the size of the head of a pin at the blade tip has any nickel missing.

The sword knot is essentially perfect with only some very minor wear (about 5%) where the knot threads through the guard.

This offering represents the rare opportunity to procure an exceptionally rare Japanese WW2 Naval Admiral's Sword for your Japanese sword or world Militaria collection.
