1 rare Meiji period through World War II Japanese Samurai Forestry Dirk available. This large Japanese dirk is early--and has a traditional Samurai blade in it. This dagger would make an exceptionally rare addition to any collection.
The traditional blade is signed 'Kunimoto'. This dirk has a sharkskin saya. The habaki is covered in gold gilt, and has no wear.
The blade measures 9 13/16". This large dagger measures 15" overall.
This is a harder to find early Forestry dagger.
The saya lock functions perfectly. The sharkskin on the saya has some separation on the seam, but as you can see in the photos the saya displays nicely. The traditional signed blade is not in polish--it has finish scratches so the hamon is obscured. There are some pits near the blade tip.
