1 antique WW2 Japanese Army tanto available. Tanto swords like this one were carried by some Japanese soldiers during World War II to evoke for them the spirit of the Samurai. This Japanese tanto would make an important addition to any collection.
This tanto could be easily carried in a pack. The blade measures 7 5/16". The nakago/tang is not signed. When in its shirasaya, this tanto measures 12 3/4" overall. This tanto comes with its original silk storage bag.
This tanto has an acid-etched hamon/temper line. The hamon has the image of Mt. Fuji. This is unusual, and is very hard to find.
This antique WW2 Japanese tanto dagger is in excellent condition. The shirasaya is in excellent condition. The blade has slight, occasional carbon finish staining. There is a tear at the bottom of the original silk storage bag. The tear is such that it can be hand-stitched back to close it.
This WW2 Japanese tanto sword, with its rare Mt. Fuji hamon, would make a fine addition to any Japanese sword or world militaria collection.
