This knife is identified on its front to the Cruiser warship U.S.S. Alaska.
The front of the sheath is marked 'W.W.R. U.S.S. ALASKA C. B1 5/45'. The front of the sheath is also marked with what is likely the sailor's or Marine's initials 'CMB'.
This Western G-46 has an 8-inch blued blade. This knife measures 13 1/16" overall. This knife has its original Western double-stitched sheath with it.
This knife is in mint condition. The front stitches on the sheath are mostly missing--but, of course, the rivets keep the blade held safely in the scabbard.
