1 U.S. World War 2 Pacific theater identified Mark 1 fighting knife. This knife has it all--ship identification, theaters of operation, even a matchbook cover from the ship. This knife would make an important addition to any collection.
This is a Ka-bar Mark 1 fighting knife. The blade measures 5".
This knife is fully identified (and then some) on the sheath. At the top it reads 'U.S.N. DD669 9-1945'. DD669 was the U.S.S. Cotten--a Fletcher class Destroyer.
Below that it is marked with all of its Pacific theaters of operation. Locations that I can make out just at a glance are Wake Island, Iwo Jima, Leyte, Okinawa, Philippines, Eniwetok, Saipan, and the list goes on.
This knife is in exceptional condition.
