1 U.S. First Special Service Forces World War II V42 fighting knife.  This fine Case V42 has the desirable long sheath.  This knife would make an important addition to any collection.

The reverse blade tang is marked 'U. S.   437'.  The front tang is stamped 'CASE'.  This Case V42 measures 12 7/16" overall.  The blade itself measures 7 1/4". 

This knife is ID'd, and researchable.  Many collectors like to be able to research the history of the soldier that carried a knife.  The long sheath is marked on its front with the soldier's name and serial #.  The soldier's name looks to be 'Van Kreisher'.  His serial # looks like '3719791', or '3719991'. 

This WW2 Case V42 with its less common long sheath is in excellent condition.  The blade has some scattered ultra minor pitting.  There are no nicks on the blade.  The blade has 65% of its original bluing.  The handle is in excellent condition.  Everything is nice and tight on this knife. 

The scabbard is in excellent condition.  There is no dryness in the leather.  All stitches, staples, rivets, the keeper strap, and the snap are in perfect condition.
