This V-44 fighting knife is ID'd on the scabbard with the soldier's name 'CRUMLEY'.
This V-44 was made by Collins. The blade is stamped 'COLLINS & CO. HARTFORD No. 18'. This knife measures 14 5/16" overall. The blade itself measures 9 5/8". This knife has a brass guard, and green horn handle. The Collins scabbard is stamped 'COLLINS & Co. LEGITIMUS 13'.
This vintage World War II Collins green horn handle V44 is in excellent condition. The blade has carbon staining, and just the lightest of occasional surface-type pitting. There are a few minor nicks in the blade edge. The horn handle is in excellent condition. Everything is nice and tight on this knife. The scabbard is in nearly perfect condition.
