This sword has the general grade backstrap, and the general grade handle.  This sword measures 35" when in its scabbard.  This sword has a complete acid-etched wavy yakiba/hamon. 

This rare WW2 Japanese Army general grade dress sword is in excellent condition.  The blade plating is 99.9%.  The acid-etched yakiba (temper line) runs the full length of the blade and is in excellent condition.  The blade is perfectly straight.  One of the three handle wire strands is missing.  The handle displays nicely still on this General Grade sword.  The scabbard is complete and straight.  About 3% of its nickel-plated surface has the beginnings of oxidation.
