1 vintage World War II Japanese NCO sword available. The condition of the handle paint on this sword is among the best condition Japanese NCO swords to be found. This WW2 Japanese NCO sword would make a fine addition to any collection.
The sword's serial # is 114266. The scabbard has no serial #. The blade measures 26 3/8" from tip to top of the habaki (habaki edge that touches the blade). Note the arsenal stamp next to the sword's serial #.
The blade has no pitting whatsoever, and only carbon staining/patina--that can be cleaned up if the collector chooses to do so. There are occasional small nicks in the blade edge. There are also finish scratches on the blade. The handle paint is in 95% condition--which is very rare. All of the fittings are nice and tight on this sword. The scabbard fits perfectly, but the lock won't quite snap locked. This is likely, because the G.I. who selected this sword to bring back from a pile of confiscated/surrendered swords grabbed a scabbard for his sword from another one--maybe the one that was one this sword was dented or something like that.
