1 earliest version World War 2 Robeson U.S.N. Mark 2 fighting knife.  This early War Robeson Mark 2 combat knife would make a rare addition to any collection.

This Mark 2 variation has a thick red spacer next to the guard.  The blade is parkerized.  Note the photos from Mike Silvey's reference Knives of the United States Military--World War 2.  Mike explains that the Robeson USN Mark 2 with the red spacer next to the guard is the earliest version of this knife. 

The blade on this desirable Mark 2 measures 7".  The knife is marked 'ROBESON SHUREDGE' on the front tang.  The reverse tang is stamped 'U.S.N.'. 

The sheath is stamped 'BOYT -43-    U.S.N.'.  The initials of the U.S. sailor or Marine that carried this knife are marked into the back of the sheath. 

This Robeson U.S.N. Mark 2 is in beautiful condition.  The handle is perfect.  The guard and pommel are absolutely tight with no looseness or wiggle.  The blade was expertly sharpened by the sailor or Marine.  The parkerizing is 95% with no rust or oxidation of any kind.  The Boyt sheath is almost perfect.
