1 antique Japanese Samurai pole yari. This Koto period Yari is signed 'Minamoto Nobukuni Heishiro Yoshimasa'. This fine yari spearpoint would make an important addition to any collection.
This yari was brought back by a G.I. after World War 2. A wood surrender tag with the former owner's name is attached to the pole. In addition, the pole was cut down (like most were) so it could fit in the G.I.'s duffel bag.
This fine yari has a sanscrit horimono. This is a fine feature on a Samurai yari. This yari measures 14 1/2" including the nakago. The point itself measures 5 1/8". The pole, even though cut, has 5 fine pole fittings remaining.
This yari was cleaned up with finger stones--the hamon/temper line is perfect on all sides. This yari has surface-type pitting. This fine yari; being signed, with fine horimono, and healthy temper; would be an excellent candidate for polish.
