1 antique 18th/19th Century Japanese sword tsuka. This fine Samurai sword handle has a rare family mon fuchi. This Samurai family mon centuries later was used unfortunately by the Nazis.
This katana/tachi tsuka measures 10 1/16" in length. The fuchi/kashira doesn't have to match with a fuchi like this sword handle has.
The opening in the fuchi that fits the sword blade measures 1 1/8" long (2.9 cm) by 5/16" wide (0.8 cm).
This Japanese Samurai sword handle, with its rare motif family mon fuchi, would make a rare addition to any collection--and would make a fine handle for an antique Japanese katana or tachi.
This antique 18th/19th Century Japanese tsuka is in excellent condition. The fuchi has an occasional, hard-to-see mark. The silk wrap has the paper showing in a couple of spots. The wrap is stable--and wouldn't need to be replaced for mounting on a sword or for displaying in a collection.
