1 vintage U.S. World War 1/World War II Mark 1 trench knuckle knife.  This trench fighting knife was made in France for the U.S. Army, and is marked 'AU LION' on the tang.  The lion image is stamped just above the Au Lion mark.  This knife would make an important addition to any collection.

This knife measures 11 3/8" overall.  The blade itself measures 6 3/8".  There is no sheath with this knife.  'U.S. 1918' is marked on the guard. 

This original U.S. World War 1 / World War 2 Au Lion Mark 1 trench knife is in excellent condition.  The sharpened blade has occasional spots of dark patina, but no real pitting.  The 'AU LION' stamp is nicely struck.
