1 rare U.S. World War II wood handle Kennedy Arms fighting knife available.  I have been listing a number of different variations of Kennedy Arms fighting knives–and this is yet another version.  A Kennedy Arms knife would make a rare addition to any premium collection. 

The blade on this fine combat knife measures 7 13/16″ long.  This knife measures 12 3/16″ overall.  This knife is marked in three places.  The handle is stamped ‘KENNEDY ARMS  ST. PAUL’.  The brass part of the guard, and the leather part of the guard is stamped in this way as well. 

The original sheath is stamped ‘KENNEDY BROS. ARMS CO.   ST. PAUL‘.

1 ultra rare Japanese World War 2 Army Colonel’s sword by Kanemitsu.  This sword is many steps above a typical gendai sword.  This sword has the following rare or unusual features (all combined in one sword):

1. Rare pronounced hada/grain
2. Artistic, bold signature with kao/hot stamp
3. Rare second saya/scabbard hanger.  rare removeable type hanger usually only seen in reference books
4. Excellent nagasa/blade length — 27 5/16″ inches (69.4 cm)
5. Early sword (1938)–premium fittings.  early reddish saya lacquer, pierced tsuba, matching assembly numbers on fittings, ‘harp’-stamped tsuba
6. Colonel/field grade officer’s tassel
7. condition–excellent.  good polish

1 vintage U.S. World War 2 Case Pig Sticker fighting knife.  This desirable U.S. fighting knife would make an important addition to any collection.

The knife’s blade tang is stamped ‘CASE‘.  This knife measures 10 1/4″ overall.  The blade itself measures 6″ to the guard.  

This pig sticker fighting knife has a rare, highly collectible Case hanger-type sheath.

1 antique World War II Japanese samurai Army Colonel Officer’s sword available.  The blade is a fine sword by Ishido Teruhide.   The sword is in full recent polish.  This sword is mounted in shirasaya–with a gold foil habaki.  This very fine Japanese Army Colonel’s katana would make an important addition to any collection.

The mounts are early–and are very rare.  Mounts with this high grade blue-black/grey finish are found on perhaps 1 in 15,000 Army swords.  

The kashira has a Silver Samurai family mon–which is quite nice.  But what is especially uncommon is that there is a Samurai mon on each menuki. 

The nakago/tang is signed with two characters, Teruhide.  The kashira has a fine clasped hands sarute, and a near-mint Colonel’s (field grade) tassel.  The mounts/koshirae have a wood blade/tsunagi. 

The blade measures 26 1/16″/66.2 cm (as measured properly with a tape pulled tight from the blade tip to the bottom of the notch in the habaki).  This sword has a very fine gold foil habaki. 

1 vintage World War II U.S. Army Knife LC-14-B available.  This LC-14-B fighting knife/machete is known as The Woodsman’s Pal.  This fighting machete comes with original manuals and with its original sharpening stone.  This Woodsman’s Pal set would make an important addition to any WW II collection.

The blade is stamped ‘WOODSMAN’S PAL   280   TRADE MARK — PAT # 2335497   VICTOR TOOL CO.-READING, PA.‘.  The guard is stamped ‘LC-14-B‘.  The original books included with this Woodsman’s Pal fighting machete are:

• CARE, USE AND SHARPENING OF KNIFE LC-14-B —  48 pg. book
• FIGHTING WITH U.S.A KNIFE LC-14-B — 16 pg. book

Each manual was printed in August of 1943.

1 rare U.S. World War 2 Kephart fighting knife.  This desirable WW2 combat knife would make an important addition to any U.S. military or world militaria collection. 

This is a large Kephart fighter.  This knife measures 12 11/16″ overall.  The blade itself measures 7 5/16″.  The wood slab handle is not marked on this Kephart.  This is a more rare Kephart knife with an extra thick reinforced guard.  

1 new, unused SOG Arcitech knife.  This fine SOG knife would make an important addition to any collection.

The blade is made of VG-10 San Mai.  The knife measures 7 15/16″ overall.  The blade itself measures 3 7/16″.  This knife was made in Seki, Japan.

1 vintage World War II M3 trench knife w/M6 scabbard available.  This U.S. M3 fighting knife and scabbard would make a fine addition to a collection.

The M3 trench knife is blade-marked ‘U.S. M3-UTICA‘.  Much of that mark is not visible (though ‘UTICA’ can still be barely made out).  Most of the value in this M3 knife combo is in the M6 scabbard. 

The knife’s blade measures 6 5/8″.  This knife measures 11 1/2″ overall.  The pommel is peened, and it has the flaming bomb stamp.  The scabbard with this M3 is a U.S. cut-down Moose M6 scabbard.  U.S. airborne troops preferred to cut off the top of the scabbard on their M6 sheaths.

2 rare! book knives available.  These World War 2 O.S.S. Philippine drop knives are the actual book knives that were photographed for Mike Silvey’s reference book Knives of the United States Military–World War II.  This rare knives offering would make an important addition to any U.S. military or world militaria collection.

These knives appear on page 175 of Silvey’s book.

1 antique World War II Japanese samurai army officer’s sword available.  This is an old family blade.  The blade on this WW2 Officer’s katana was made between 1661 and 1673 A.D.  This sword was carried centuries ago by true Samurai.  This sword would make an important addition to any collection.

The tang is signed with the swordsmith’s name, ‘Heianjo Minamoto Yoshinaga‘.  This Kanbun sword has a very straight shape.  The sori is just 1/4″. 

All military fittings are of excellent quality.  The blade measures 26 7/16″ (67.2 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.  This fine sword has a suguha/straight temper line.  This sword has a cherry blossom sarute/tassel loop.  The saya/scabbard has a spatter-lacquer finish. 

This antique World War 2 tanto, made by the noted Yasukuni Shrine swordsmith, Yasuhiro, would make a rare addition to any collection.

The tang is signed ‘Toto Ju Nin Ikkansai Kunimori Kin Saku’.  Information on Ikkansai Kunimori, known as the Yasukuni Shrine swordsmith, Yasuhiro, can be found on pages 182-185 of John Slough’s book.  Yasuhiro did not make many tanto.  So this is a fine piece.

The blade measures 7.51″ (19.09 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.  This sword has a fine wood saya.  This fine tanto also comes in a custom wood box with silk sword bag. 

The solid Silver habaki is engraved with a Samurai family mon.

1 antique World War II Japanese samurai army officer’s sword available.  The sword blade itself is an old family blade.  The blade on this WW2 Officer’s sword was made between 1688 and 1704 A.D.  This sword was carried centuries ago by true Samurai.  This sword would make an important addition to any collection.

The tang is signed with the swordsmith’s name, ‘Kuniyuki‘.  The signature was verified by the NTHK in 2012.  This sword is papered. 

All military fittings are of excellent quality.  Note the premium spatter-lacquer finish on the saya/scabbard.  This sword also has a higher quality pierced tsuba.  All fittings have matching assembly numbers. 

The blade measures 21 1/8″ (53.7 cm) from blade tip to notch in the blade spine.  This fine sword has a suguha/straight temper line.  Note the long kissaki (blade tip).  The kissaki measures a long 2 3/16″ (5.6 cm).  

This sword has a hard-to-find blade shape–shinogi-zukuri.  The shinogi-ji changes/tapers in 13 7/8″ (35.2 cm) back from the blade tip.
