Description

1 incredible World War II Japanese NCO sword available. This sword still has:

–its original leather portopee tassel

–its original leather belt hanger

–its original leather combat cover

Incredible!

In addition, this sword was struck by a piece of shrapnel or a .45 bullet.  So cool!  Look at the dent in the saya/scabbard just below the throat fitting.  This impact also dented the habaki (blade collar just above the guard).

This WW2 Japanese NCO sword would make a fine addition to any collection.

This sword has a LOW serial number.  The sword and scabbard serial #’s match.  The sword’s serial # is ‘7514’.  The scabbard/saya serial # is ‘7514’ as well.  The blade measures 26 5/16″ from tip to top of the habaki (habaki edge that touches the blade).  Note the arsenal stamps on the fuchi (fitting just below the tsuba/guard).

CONDITION:

This vintage World War II Japanese sword is in excellent condition.  The blade has some occasional carbon staining.  The leather portopee has a weak spot near where it attaches to the sarute–be careful with it, and it will be fine.  (If it were to break sometime in the future as you own this sword, find some vintage Japanese cordage from another collectible WW2 piece, and bind the break tightly to fix it).
