Description
1 vintage WW2 Collins V-44 survival knife available. This V-44 combat knife would make an important addition to any collection.
The blade is stamped ‘COLLINS & CO. LEGITIMUS MADE IN U.S.A. No. 18’. This knife measures 14″ overall. The blade itself measures 9 7/16″. This knife has a brass guard, and desirable green horn handle.
CONDITION:
This WW2 green horn handle Collins V44 is in excellent condition. The blade has carbon staining from age and just some surface-type tiny pitting. The tip the leather sheath wore out, so the Marine or G.I. that carried this V-44 hand-stitching the tip closed again. The thread wore eventually as well. The holes for the stitches are still there and intact, so it can be stitched up again.
