This sword is by Kanezane is signed with his ‘Imperial Exhibition Winning Candidate‘ mei.  This sword also has his kokuin/hot stamp.  

 

This sword has a fine sanbonsugi temper line.  This hamon is also known as ‘three cedars‘. 

This listing is for the sword blade and habaki only.  This sword would make a perfect piece to build a complete Army shin-gunto sword.  Many photos are provided to show condition.  The blade and habaki will be shipped with a genuine, though rough, saya that will protect the blade. 

The blade measures 26 9/16″ (67.5 cm) from blade tip to the bottom of the notch in the habaki

CONDITION:

This WW2 sword has no nicks.  The blade is perfectly straight.  There are areas of carbon patina/staining on the blade.  There is no significant or deep pitting on the blade.  This sword is an excellent candidate for a restoration polish.  Lots of photos have been provided for those amateur polishers–or for those that wish to buy that have a good polisher they use. 

The hamon/temper line and boshi are perfectly healthy.
